Reading Logs and Miracles

Warning! May contain Sea of Monsters spoilers!

I am so incredibly happy. As you know, I love Percy Jackson and anything to do with it, and I love when other people read it. So, I am going to share with you two amazing stories (which you probably don't even care about.... oh well, haha) of people reading Percy Jackson. One is a weird coincidence (well, not really. It was partially planned), and the other is a pure miracle. Read on :)

The weird, not-really-coincidence story:

For literature class in school, we have to do a reading log. We can read any book we want, as long as the teacher approves it. There are at least two people reading the Lightning Thief. My friend is reading the Sea of Monsters (more on that later). I am reading the Titan's Curse. One guy is reading the Battle of the Labyrinth. And Alex (Silena on the FB page) is reading the Last Olympian. How cool is that? At least one person for each book... Amazing!

The miracle story:

So, as I said in the previous story, my friend Jill* is reading the Sea of Monsters for her reading log. Well, you can change "is" to "was". She read the book in a week. A week! Now, what you have to understand about Jill is that she must be the slowest reader on the planet. Books don't normally excite her. It took her a while to read the Lightning Thief, but when she got to the Sea of Monsters, she was speed-reading through that book like there was no tomorrow. She read 7 chapters in a weekend. That is more than a lot for her. This is the girl who took almost two months to read the Hunger Games!

When she finished the book, she ran up to me and said, while bouncing up and down, (spoiler alert!) "THEA'S ALIVE!" I was excited too, and I started bouncing up and down with her. Then I stopped bouncing and said, "Wait... did you say Thea? It's ThALIa!" She didn't care. She just kept jumping up and down, but that's okay. I didn't want to ruin her excitement.

On Friday when my two friends were saying 573 days until Catching Fire, we were saying 333 days until the Sea of Monsters :)

She also hasn't seen the first Percy Jackson movie, and she wondered what Clarisse looked like. I told her that Clarisse wasn't in the first one, but I could show her a picture of who is playing her in the second. I borrowed Alex's Hunger Games magazine and showed her the picture of Glimmer. Jill said, "She's too pretty to be Clarisse!" I agreed with her. But we're still excited for it to come out. :D

*Name in this post was previously Anne (not her real name). She requested that I change it to her real name, because I wasn't "giving her credit." Oh, Jill... :)

Sea of Monsters Set Pictures

Warning! May contain Sea of Monsters spoilers!

Hi guys! I'd like to share some pictures I found from the set of The Sea Of Monsters!! :) It's being filmed in Vancouver, Canada and the pictures were taken on April 19th. Enjoy!

Oh my gosh! Look at his face xD Poor Logan.... (source: Just Jared)

Leven Rambin (Clarisse) and the set dog (source: twitter.com/aadaddario)
There's everyone's favorite satyr!(Grover, played by Brandon T. Jackson) (source: Just Jared)

LOL love this shirt!
(source: twitter.com/aadaddario)

Annabeth! (Alexandra Daddario) BLONDE!!!! :D (source: Just Jared)
Yayyyy PERCY! (Logan Lerman) With that face again! hahahahahaha (source: Just Jared)
So this is the picture I'm confused about. Why is Grover there? He's not supposed to be there until it gets toward the end. Maybe this could be when they come back from the quest? Like, when they're in Florida? But then Clarisse would be there! Or it could be after Clarisse leaves. RIGHT after Clarisse leaves. The other possibility is that instead of looking for Grover AND the Fleece, they're just looking for the Fleece. After all, Grover wasn't trying to get a searcher's license in the first one. He was trying to get his horns. There was no mention of the search for Pan. (source: Just Jared)

What could Percy be pointing at? Hmmm...... perhaps Clarisse's plane? (I'm just being hopeful here, ok? Haha) (source: Just Jared)
They have coffee :D (source: Just Jared)

Where are they, why is Grover there, and what part of the movie is this? That's what I'm trying to figure out!!! UGH (source: Just Jared)

Tyson's hair is kind of bothering me. And I don't think he has one eye here because of one of two possibilities: One being that he's in the mortal world and the mist is hiding it, or two--This is just a picture from the set. He doesn't actually have one eye! (source: Just Jared)

So that's it for the pictures. I'm really looking forward to the movie, even though the first one was a failure. I have hope that they will find a way to correct at least some of their mistakes.

New Stuff

As you can see, I changed the Favicon (the little icon next to the web address) from Annabeth to Percy. I also added a list of important dates and changed the spacing of the cabin points list area chart thingy. Do you like it? :)

Sea of Monsters & Blog Updates

Hi guys!!! I feel like I haven't been posting enough, I just can't figure out what to post!

My first bit of news is that March 26, 2013 is the release date for the Sea of Monsters movie. Although I was extremely disappointed in the first movie, I am still planning to see this one to find out what they mess up and/or how they might redeem themselves. I'll update you guys on that when it comes out, but that's will be a while... I believe most of the characters have been casted, more on that here.

Second piece of news: Twitter. I'm working on trying to figure out a username for my PJO Twitter. Please help? I've narrowed it down to iWantFloor600, iDemigodDareU, PercyJSwag, PJOFandom, PoseidonCabin, WeNever4getLuke, and ADHDandDyslexic. I have no idea which one to choose!! D: If you want to help, tweet your favorite one with the hashtag #AskPJOFandom (even though it's not a question), write on our Facebook wall (the link is on the cabin points chart), or email PJOForever@gmail.com. Your help would be very much appreciated!

News Briefs:
  • I'm still working on re-reading the series. I'm only on the beginning of the Sea of Monsters because I've also been reading The Black Book of Buried Secrets, which is an add-on to the 39 Clues (It even has an introduction by Rick Riordan!).
  • Today, on my Twitter (which, by the way, is not PJO related) I changed my name to Thalia Grace ^_^.
  • Sadly, the Facebook page is now a timeline :(. But, on the upside, we have 73 likes!
  • Remember, there is a contest on the Facebook page also. It's create your own demigod. Your cabin gets 15 points for participating, and 50 points for being the most creative! Refer to the one post for more information. Entries are due on April 28th. Post your entry on our Facebook wall or send them to our email address. ("Our" meaning me and my friends/co-admins)
Happy Easter! (Or Passover, I guess)
